about

We were making this track on the day we heard Edgar Froese died. We'd never really considered ourselves a 'Berlin School' band, except perhaps in the wider remit that would also include Cluster, Neu and Can. I think it came about because of the Faderfox SC4 sequencer that was in the studio at the time, which just naturally gravitates towards that kind of thing. Anyway, once it was rigged up to Tim's Jupiter 6, this track just evolved and was mostly completed in one day - I think we added the overdubs the day after, Tim may correct my memory.
So here it is. Once we decided on the title - I hope it's a fitting tribute to the great man - the rest of the album was assembled. Of course, it then took our usual months of pondering time to get it released, partly because we had considered a full CD release. In the end, rather than dither further, we put it out there, or here, rather. There's so much other material in the bag we need to release at least some of it.
